Family-run
Three generations caring for every detail of your stay.
Hotel Bidasoa was founded in 1989 by Mauricio Sanz and María Elena Raab, a couple who also own Pinpilinpausha, one of the most traditional restaurants in Santiago.
The name comes from the Bidasoa river, the natural border between the French and Spanish Basque country, the land where Mauricio was born and had to leave because of the Spanish civil war.
The hotel is still inhabited and operated by the Sanz family, who seek for both the hotel and its two restaurants to be platforms for transformation: places where guests and collaborators can expand and connect with the best of themselves.
In 2023 Bidasoa received the Green Impact Award for being the most energy-efficient building, with 95% of its operation based on renewable energies.
